Albert Hofmann (1906–2008) was a legendary Swiss chemist widely known as the “father of LSD”. While researching ergot derivatives at Sandoz Laboratories, he synthesized lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) in 1938 and accidentally discovered its profound psychoactive effects in 1943. His work revolutionized neuroscience, psychiatry, and the cultural landscape of the 1960s.

Alex Randall traveled with Nina Randall and Pam Wesson to interview Albert Hofmann at his home outside Basle Switzerland in 1973. The topic is LSD.
