Humphry Osmond

Humphry Fortescue Osmond (July 1, 1917 – February 6, 2004) was a British psychiatrist best known for coining the word “psychedelic” and for his pioneering research into the medicinal and psychiatric applications of hallucinogenic drugs like LSD and mescaline.
